And what a wild ride it was...
Thank you to our backers and those who shared our campaign with family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and random people in the street. We couldn't have done it without you.
We met our goal with room to spare and can't wait to create these glasses and send them to you. We are overwhelmed by all the love. More updates soon! Thanks so much again, and cheers.

The headline says it all, folks! Check out our campaign at:
And we're off!
We're very excited to give you a sneak peak at a new product line we're launching on Tuesday, June 16: COLLEGE TOWN MAPS DRINKWARE! Have a look-see at a few of our latest prototypes:
So what exactly is College Town Drinkware? Simply put, we are expanding our Maps Barware line to include great American college towns, but this time, rather than etching the map designs on the glasses, we are screen printing them to incorporate the colors of the home team.
The best part? We're launching with 58 college towns on a brand new crowdfunding platform backed by a major global online marketplace. The details of the platform are under wraps until June 16, but we can tell you that you will definitely know the name when the story breaks. Needless to say, we're pretty darn excited over here.
We'll send out a second update on June 16 with more details and a link to our project page, but in the meantime, we wanted to share this with our closest friends and supporters to start getting the word out. We hope you'll check out the project when we do launch and share share share away to anyone and everyone.
If you have any feedback or questions, or just want to drop us a note, shoot us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We'd love to hear from you.
Thanks for reading, and cheers!Brian, Dave, and Neil
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Whether you’re playing hooky and day-drinking on a rooftop somewhere today, or looking to kick it up a notch at the local Irish pub after work, we want to help you get in the mood (we’re nice guys like that). That’s why we’re bringing you a few classic Irish whiskey cocktail recipes paired with the perfect songs for celebrating the most fun holiday in the calendar. Besides, isn’t it about time you graduated from green beer? Okay, maybe just one or two before you break out the good stuff...
1. The Pogues - Sally Mclennane x The Emerald feat. San Francisco Maps
The Pogues are an inspiration for us all to drink whiskey now and ask questions later. Shane MacGowan’s fast-paced storytelling on top of a medley of banjo/mandolin/accordion will get things started nicely.
2 ounces Irish whiskey
1 ounce sweet vermouth
2 dashes orange bitters
Pour all ingredients into a mixing glass and fill with cracked ice. Stir well for 30 seconds and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a piece of orange or lemon peel, or nothing at all.
2. Dropkick Murphys – Rose Tattoo x The Copywriter feat. DC Maps
Take it from James Joyce and Oscar Wilde: nothing gets the creative juices flowing like a couple stiff drinks. This next band, who cursed their way to punk stardom with a thrashing array of bagpipes, electric guitars, and iconic vocals, also happens to know their way around a bottle of whiskey. Just don’t get too carried away or you might end up with a rose tattoo of your own. Or maybe you already have one?
1/2 ounce hot water
1/2 ounce honey
2 ounces Irish whiskey
3/4 ounce freshly squeezed juice from 1 lemon
1/2 ounce sweet vermouth
1/2 ounce honey syrup
Garnish: lemon twist
Honey Syrup: Stir together hot water and honey until honey dissolves.
Cocktail: Add whiskey, lemon, sweet vermouth, and honey syrup to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake until well chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain into an ice-filled glass. Top with seltzer and garnish with a lemon twist.
3. Mychael and Jeff Danna - The Blood of Cu Chulainn x The Blarney Stone feat. Philly Maps
Although not an Irish drinking song in the traditional sense, this tune from 1999’s cult classic film The Boondock Saints will make even the Debbie Downer at your party get up and jig with revelry. Pour yourself one of these tasty little beverages and you’ll be joining her in no time.
2 ounces Irish whiskey
1 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, from about two limes
Ginger beer, chilled
Garnish: lime twist
Add whiskey and lime juice to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake until well chilled, about 15 seconds. Strain into an ice-filled glass. Top with ginger beer and garnish with lime twist.
4. The Rumjacks – An Irish Pub Song x The Irish Derby feat. LA Maps
This last pairing will have Irish eyes a smiling again and again and again. The Rum Jacks bring a pulse-pounding, Dublin street sound that echoes tales of battles won, loves lost, and journeys taken. Top it off with this Irish Derby recipe and you will be off to more than just the races.
1 1/2 ounces Irish whiskey
1/2 ounce Carpano Antica sweet vermouth
1/2 ounce Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao (or Cointreau)
1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice from 1/2 lime
2 dashes Angostura bitters
4-inch lime twist for garnish
Add whiskey, sweet vermouth, curaçao, lime juice, and bitters to a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until well chilled, about 20 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with lime twist.

And while you're browsing the shop today looking for that perfect holiday gift for weird Uncle Larry and crazy Aunt Sue, why not pick up something fun for all those parties you have coming up? Something that will take your granddad's spicy eggnog up a notch (if that's even possible)? Something that brings the festive beauty of holiday sweaters to your candy cane spritzers and mistletoe mojitos?
Introducing... Sweater Rocks!
We can't wait for next week and the beginning of a fun holiday season filled with a whole lotta food and drink, and some quality time with family and friends. And if you're planning on doing some shopping online while you're maxing and relaxing next week, we'd love for you to stop on by our little shop and check out what's in store. Here's a little sneak preview of our holiday deals, which start on Monday, November 24:
So come on by -- we know you'll be glad you did. Cheers!

Yesterday we visited Olives & Grace, a cool little shop in Boston's South End that carries an awe-inspiring array of local, handmade, and socially responsible goods (including our Boston Maps Rocks Glasses!). We had a blast meeting and chatting with Sofi, who owns the store and curates the collection, and shares our passion for supporting small business and the community. She also puts together really nice gift boxes and sets. If you're within 50 miles of Boston at all during the holidays, it's worth the trip.
While we were there, we also got to meet Robin of Doves and Figs, who makes probably the best jams on planet Earth. She and her daughter make everything by hand in their kitchen and use only fruits grown in Massachusetts by local farms. We tasted a jam called Sunday Brunch -- they should really call it Heaven on a Cracker (Or Whatever Else You Want to Put It On). Let's just say we'll be stocking up on that one, and you should too.
We could not be more excited to launch our newest product, MapsCase! MapsCase is an elegant yet durable case for your phone, which is possibly your most important possession other than your dignity.
If you can't tell yet, we love cities, we love maps, we love functionality, and we love simple yet striking design. And thus MapsCase was born!
We hope you'll love these as much as we do. We'll be adding new cities and adding the iPhone 6 as soon as we can, so drop us a line at email@example.com if you have ideas for cities we should add, or any other thoughts you have about them. We love hearing from you.
